When in water, it creates an acid-base reaction due to the presence of two friendly ingredients: citric acid + sodium bicarbonate and together release carbon dioxide. This glorious duo is totally biodegradable and non toxic. Sodium bicarbonate has awesome cosmetic properties and its natural fellow citric acid can be found in many veggies such as lemon.
